
THE INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL/UNICEF "SAY YES FOR CHILDREN" TV AWARD
RULES AND REGULATIONS AND ENTRY FORM
Eligibility:
-- The broadcast campaign must have taken place before the Special Session of the United Nations on 21 September, 2001
-- The television campaign is intended to promote the "Say Yes For Children" initiative
-- Any form of promotional campaign is allowed (i.e. concerts, documentaries, PSA, animation, etc.)
How your presentation will be judged:
UNICEF will pre-screen and evaluate all entries and will then select semi-finalists (6) for final judging by the International Council of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
The judges will select the winner based on two separate criteria:
CONCEPT: Does the programme promote the principles, purpose and main themes of the "Say Yes For Children" initiative?
EXECUTION: How effectively does the presentation convey the concept to the viewer?
Submission requirements:
Please submit you presentation on a VHS (NTSC or PAL) with:
-- An accompanying entry form
-- A detailed summary of the programme presentation (in English)
Note: If the programme presentation is longer than 30 minutes, please submit an edited version of approximately 30 minutes.
Language:
All presentations may be submitted in their original language. If dubbing or subtitling is not feasible, all entries must include an English transcript.
Entry fee:
There is no entry fee but all materials must be delivered to UNICEF pre-paid and free of any shipping, handling, customs, or clearance obligations.
Deadline:
In order to be eligible, all tapes and entry forms must arrive at UNICEF in New York no later than 18 September 2001.
Shipping instructions:
All entries are to be submitted to UNICEF at the address below. We strongly recommend that you use an international air courier such as DHL or FedEx so that you can track delivery. Please fax a copy of the entry form to UNICEF at 1 212 326 7731 when shipping so receipt may be confirmed. Be sure that your entry form contains the programme synopsis required by US Customs.

Cassettes entered in the competition cannot be returned. UNICEF may use finalist cassettes and/or the International Council of NATAS in order to promote the competition in future years and/or for archival purposes.
